The show premiered at the legendary Comedy Store in Los Angeles in 2022 with the goal of uniting people with laughter by bringing comedians from conflicting countries together on stage. It turned out to be a big success with a sold-out room, and inspired producer and comedian Anya Zova to take it on the road and do comedy for a good cause. Show expended to different wars and conflicts around the Globe. Make Laughs Not War has played at Cobbs San Francisco, Punch Line Philly, Carolines on broadway and Hollywood Improv, as well as New York Comedy Festival 2023.
There are 32 ongoing conflicts in the world right now, ranging from drug wars, terrorist insurgencies, ethnic conflicts, and civil wars. At this current moment, the world needs laughter more than ever.
Our goal is to spread peace by uniting people through laughter and joy. As well as raising funds for the victims, we collaborate with non profit organizations all over the world.
Comedian / Producer / Actress
Stand-up comedian, actress, and producer Anya Zova was born and raised in Russia, where she became a Kickboxing World Champion and graduated law school at the age of 20. She is the daughter of a Ukrainian mother and a Russian father. After relocating to the United States to pursue her American dream, she signed with WWE and began acting. Anya made her television debut on NBC's award-winning comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine and appeared on the hit CBS series MacGyver. She executive produced and acted in the TV pilot Wake Up and stars in an upcoming music video with Ariana Grande. Anya is currently touring the country with her self-produced stand-up comedy show Make Laughs Not War, supporting Ukraine and uniting people through joy, peace, and laughter.
